Cascadia College to WSU

When Cascadia College students in AS-T degree programs are selecting courses, it is best to make sure the type of Humanities and Social Sciences courses they are taking to meet the 15-credit requirement are spread out so they will have as many WSU UCORE general education requirements covered in transfer as possible. Use the tables below or the Transfer Course Search Tool to see how courses will transfer to WSU and meet UCORE requirements.

WSU Academic Regulation 6g (Beginning for students starting Fall 2025)

“Students who have completed the Associate of Science Transfer (AS-T) degree from a Washington state public community and technical college normally will receive the same priority consideration for admission as they would for completing the Direct Transfer Associate (DTA) and will be given junior status and 60 semester credits. Completion of the AS-T degree satisfies UCORE WRTG, QUAN, BSCI, and PSCI. Additional UCORE requirements will be satisfied on a course-by-course basis. An individual course completed within the AS-T degree may not satisfy more than one UCORE category. Additional courses, up to the 73-semester credit limit, will be reviewed for transfer on a course-by-course basis.”

WSU Schedules of Studies

Steps to access schedules of studies on the WSU Catalog website:

  1. Access the specific WSU campus catalog link on the homepage from where it is listed under the “Browse the WSU Catalog” section.
  2. Select the “Schedule of Studies (for degrees, majors, options)” link.
  3. Use the drop-down box to load a course plan for the selected major.

Transfer of Humanities and Social Sciences Courses to Meet UCORE Requirements

Tips for maximizing the value of transferring humanities and social sciences courses to WSU:

  • Students should take one course in three separate UCORE areas (e.g. [HUM], [DIVR], [SSCI]).
  • World Language courses will not meet UCORE requirements at WSU.
  • Check the course plan for your WSU major to see if specific courses are required for both major and UCORE (e.g., most WSU engineering majors require ECON& 201 or 202, which also meets the [SSCI] UCORE requirement)
